An incredible, unusual gemmy and extremely tenebrescent tugtupite specimen from Kangerlussaq. Vugs with large and well-formed, gemmy tugtupite crystals

An incredible, unusual gemmy and extremely tenebrescent tugtupite specimen from Kangerlussaq. Vugs with large and well-formed, gemmy tugtupite crystals – these kind of tug crystals are distinct to Kangerlussaq. In the middle of one side is some beautiful green chkalovite (some in crystal-form, it seems) coating some of the large tugtupite crystals within the vug. Not many pieces like these will ever hit the market.

Under midwave this piece glows all sorts purple-lilac, magenta, red colors. It also displays phosphorescence.

The brownish areas are still considered tugtupite.

The second side has some sodalite or hackmanite which shows as the purple tenebrescence versus the typical deep pink tenebrescence from tugtupite.

Museum quality. An outstanding tugtupite specimen.

Fluorescent Green Agate from Scott's Gulf, Smryna, Tennessee

A major component of rock collecting (for us) is simply getting out in nature. A buddy dragged us out to a very remote area here in middle Tennessee to hunt for fluorescent green agate. Since we consider ourselves pure "Glow Hounds" we weren't anticipating any glow rocks, just the beauty of the area, but we brought our UV lights anyway.
