Polished hackmanite hearts from Afghanistan exhibiting a beautiful glow under UV light.
Tenebrescent hackmanite from Afghanistan. Very unusual fluorescent responses, tenebrescent, phosphorescent. It is slightly tenebrescent, darkening to a deep purple in seconds. Unlike Greenland hackmanite, it can take a long time to fade back (time depends on the intensity of the light source).

Red sodalite is named for the color it takes on when exposed to sunlight; it is nicely tenebrescent under longwave UV. Under shortwave UV the color deepens, in seconds, to almost black in some areas.
