A large, well-formed danburite crystal fluorescent a bright green under midwave and shortwave UV light. The green fluorescent response is due to the trace amounts of uranyl ion (uranium). On one side, there is a cluster of smaller danburite crystals.

Red sodalite is named for the color it takes on when exposed to sunlight; it is nicely tenebrescent under longwave UV. Under shortwave UV the color deepens, in seconds, to almost black in some areas.
