Hyalite opal fluorescent under all wavelengths. Under white light, this specimen features colorless transparent, glassy bubbles of hyalite opal. Under UV light, this specimen glows bright green under shortwave, midwave and longwave. Trace amounts of uranyl are the reason for this bright green glow.
Under indirect sunlight with the best results on a cloudy day, you’ll see a green fluorescence without the use of any UV lights (excluding the UV light from the sun). This is what we call “daylight fluorescence”.
Small delicate crystals of bright green fluorescing quartz are peppered around a matrix of calcite on this striking specimen.
