A nice piece from Greenland. Greenland sodalite comes in all colors. This piece is a very bright piece under shortwave, midwave and longwave. The longwave fluorescence is knock-your-socks-off bright.
This sodalite on this specimen has some tenebrescence as shown in the animated GIF below. We bet if this rock is split in half, the interior probably has a brighter fluorescence and deeper tenebrescence.
A major component of rock collecting (for us) is simply getting out in nature. A buddy dragged us out to a very remote area here in middle Tennessee to hunt for fluorescent green agate. Since we consider ourselves pure "Glow Hounds" we weren't anticipating any glow rocks, just the beauty of the area, but we brought our UV lights anyway.
